The project
Brief, approach and result.
Frederick County wanted a civic memorial that would read from the highway yet feel intimate at the lawn. Our design team developed a tapered 42-foot obelisk set on a three-step plinth, framed by six honor walls carrying more than 2,400 names.
The obelisk was fabricated in eleven stacked courses with concealed stainless dowels, dry-fit in our yard, then delivered on four scheduled loads. Setting took nine working days with our certified crew and a 90-ton crane.
